Book Recommendation: The Alchemist

If you’re looking for a book that’ll lift your spirits and resonate with possibly every emotion you’ve ever felt, look no further than The Alchemist. Written by Brazilian author Paulo Cuelho, this story is filled with inspiration that’ll make you reflect and take action on living your best life.

Central to the book is this idea of a “Personal Legend”–your unique purpose and mission in this world. Finding and following one’s Personal Legend involves pushing aside societal pressures, drama, and distractions such as money and lust. thealchemist.png

There is a magical force created by the Universe that pushes us towards our Personal Legends, and “to realize one’s Personal Legend is a person’s only real obligation”. The protagonist in the story meets a number of mentors along his journey who reinforce in him the idea that “people are capable, at any point in their lives, of doing what they dream of”.

But too often we fall short of reaching our dreams!! Too often we get too comfortable, or we get distracted chasing what everyone else wants.

I love The Alchemist because it forces you to reevaluate your life right now. Are you following YOUR Personal Legend? Are you living the life that is fueled by true happiness?  Is the world benefitting from your unique skillsets?

Remember it is never to late to take action on a dream. You are always in control of what your journey becomes. Look for the signs and don’t hesitate to act upon anything that sparks life into you. The Universe plants signs that point towards your purpose–and these signs manifest in some form or another, as happiness.

I could go on and on about how magnificent this book is…but please go read it yourself!! Ask yourself, are you happy? Is this the life you want? Are you who you want to be? I promise after you read this you will make some changes!!! ❤
